Socks on Tour

I'd planned to work on my Bavarian Strolling Socks from this year's Pattern-a-Day calendar while I was in Germany. So here's the first sock, visiting the Hofbrauhaus.

I also picked up yarn for my sock pal from the River Knits sock pal exchange at the Ludwig Beck yarn store in Munich. Here's a picture of the sock-in-progress, overlooking the Temple of Apollo at Delphi.

Fluted Banister Socks

My sister received a pair of Broadripple socks in Lorna's Laces Rainbow for Christmas this year. At first, I'd planned to use the rest of the yarn to make a set for me, but somehow the thought of matching socks just seemed too goofy.

So now I'm doing Fluted Banister Socks with the rest of the Rainbow yarn. I wasn't entirely thrilled with the way the Rainbow striped on the Broadripple socks, so I hoped for a different pattern with these. I think it gives a slightly broader stripe, and somehow it works well with the pattern.
